Tree Planted at TCHS in Honor of Lillian Clark

Lillian Clark's Tree

Taylor County School District lost a beloved teacher, counselor, and board member in 2015. Ms. Lillian Clark had been part of the Cardinal Family for close to fifty years.

Shortly after her passing, the Taylor County Board of Education presented the family with a plaque in Ms. Clark’s honor. The intention was to display the plaque, along with a tree, in her memory at the new high school. Ms. Clark was a devoted advocate for new schools for Taylor County students and she worked diligently alongside Mr. Roger D Cook, Mr. Tony Davis, and the other board members to ensure this dream became a reality.

As the high school neared its completion and the finishing touches were added, a Sweet Baby Magnolia was planted near the entrance to Citizens Bank Arena. The tree and plaque can be viewed as students, parents, and visitors walk to the entrance of the new Taylor County High School.
