Holocaust Survivor Visits TCMS Holocaust Survivor Visiting TCMS

Today, Fred Gross visited TCMS. He was born October 1936 in Belgium and survived the Holocaust. After Germany invaded Belgium in 1940, he traveled with his family throughout France to hide from the Nazis and was even released from a "holding camp" after his 16 year old brother escaped and returned to release them with the help from a French official. After spending two years in Southern France (Nice), his family crossed over the Switzerland border in 1942 when the hotel they were staying at was raided. He was then put into another camp in Switzerland but was released when they realized that Germany was losing the war. He was reunited with his family in 1944 and his family lived in Zurich until 1946 when they moved to America. Our students are so lucky to have heard such an amazing speech and story. We cannot thank Mr. Gross enough for visiting TCMS!
