Lindsey McPherson: CU Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient

Lindsey McPherson

Congratulations to Taylor County High School 9th grade teacher, Mrs. Lindsey McPherson!!

Mrs. McPherson was nominated by her peers as a 2021 CU Excellence in Teaching Award recipient. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony in May, along with the other recipients.

This is her 18th year teaching and she says her favorite part about teaching is "that everyday is a new opportunity to help my students to feel hopeful about their futures. In spite of the many obstacles we face in the world today, I believe they can achieve their dreams, and I believe they can contribute to society while building lives that will bring them joy and fulfillment."

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes teachers who use a variety of methods of effective instruction, work to meet the needs of their students, exhibit professional integrity, devote time and energy to improving professional competence, and help others to improve their professional competence.
