Superintendent Message October 21, 2021

Masks are Optional

TC Families,

Thank you for your continued support of our Keeping Students in School Plan. Together, we’ve been able to keep our students learning in-person with their teachers and alongside their peers. We believe this is crucial for their academic success and their emotional and mental development.

Our team diligently monitors community, school, and district data in order to evaluate and potentially make adjustments to our daily plans and layering strategies. Therefore, after closely examining Covid numbers, and speaking with various medical professionals, beginning Monday, October 25th, masks will be optional for students and staff based on personal and family choice.

Students will still be required to wear masks on the buses per a federal executive order pertaining to public transportation.

Students who continue to wear their masks will not have to quarantine from classroom exposure if they are deemed a close contact. Students who are not wearing a mask and are identified as a close contact will have the choice to quarantine or to participate in the Cardinal CHOICE Testing Option.

We will continue to monitor data and follow our layered strategies to prevent the spread of Covid. We will notify our families about any changes in our mask policy if needed.
