Christmas surprise for TCHS senior

Kathryn Guyton, hockey superfan and senior at Taylor County High School, was surprised with a trip to see the Nashville Predators face off against the Winnipeg Jets this Tuesday.

“I’ve been working with [Kathryn] for seven years now, and I knew she loved hockey … and really liked the Nashville Predators,” Stephen Zink, teacher and virtual school coordinator at TCHS, said. “I called and emailed and eventually got in touch with the team’s Vice President of Communications, Rebecca King, who was great to work with and took it from there.”

Members of the Predators’ communications team reached out to Kathryn and Zink over Zoom to personally invite her to the game. The team has gifted her tickets and a parking pass and will have a bag of memorabilia to present to her during her trip.

“Our principal, Sara Tucker, and vice principals, Sam Marple and Paul McQueary, were all very supportive,” Zink added. “It was good to know I had their backing to get this gift together for her, whatever it took.”
