More Information
You are invited to attend a "come and go" reception and viewing of The Journey to Reconciliation's second installation: The Jim Crow Era.
This interactive timeline is on display at the Taylor County High School Library. It is a tool to educate and facilitate discussion about African American History in and around Taylor County.
The first installment of the Journey timeline displayed stories and facts from 1619 through the Civil War. This second installment picks up at post war Reconstruction, and takes viewers through the early 1960's. The third installation will cover the Civil Rights Era and is expected to be on display in late April.
The exhibit was made possible through grant funding from, The 400 Years African American History Commission, a federally appointed committee, operating independently as established by the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and administered by the National Park Service.
