Those enrolled in preschool at Taylor County Schools must pay the $100 per week tuition unless the student qualifies. Students can qualify based on disability, income, or First Steps. You MUST live in the county to qualify. 

Students enrolled in preschool attend four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Student drop-off begins at 7:30 AM and bus transportation is available for those who live in the county.

Age Requirement (2025-2026 school year):  The student must be four (4) years old by August 1, 2025. Contact TCPC to see if your three (3) year old can qualify. 

Important Dates:

Preschool Open House (2025-2026): August 26, 2025, from 5:00 - 6:00 PM

First Day of Preschool (2025-2026): September 2, 2025

Last Day of Preschool (2025-2026): May 7, 2026

Children who will be four years old before August 1, 2026, can sign up for a preschool screening to determine if they qualify for our preschool program. Families may pay tuition if the child does not qualify. Preschool screenings will begin in March and continue through May on selected dates. Additionally, preschool screenings will take place in the fall.

Children who are four years old before August 1 of the upcoming school year may qualify for preschool based on family size and income. An application is available to be filled out through this link, or you can visit Taylor County Primary Center to pick up an application.

Preschool screening dates for the 2026-2027 school year will begin in March. Your child must be four before August 1, 2026, to schedule a screening. We do require an appointment for your screening. Please call 270-465-0449 for more information or to schedule a screening. 

The following paperwork/documentation will be required to enroll your child in the preschool program.

• Child's birth certificate (vital statistics)
• Social security card
• Physical
• Immunization form
• Eye exam
• Dental exam
• Two proofs of residency
