App / Apptegy/ Rooms Support
Dear Taylor County families,
Kentucky Senate Bill 181 (SB 18) and House Bill 67 (HB 67) require schools to use a traceable electronic communication system for electronic communication between employees, volunteers, and students.
As of July 2026, Rooms (Apptegy) has been designated as the district’s official traceable electronic communication system. In addition, the Taylor County Board of Education approved the following platforms for traceable communication: Microsoft Outlook, Google Suite, Canvas, Blackboard, Starfish, Moodle, Edmentum, Certiport, and SportsYou.
To access and review communications sent through our approved traceable communication systems, please contact your child’s principal directly to begin the communication review process.
Parents may submit written consent to authorize a designated school district employee or volunteer who is not a family member to communicate electronically with his or her child outside of the traceable communication system. The consent form must be filled out prior to any electronic communication being sent from a school district employee or volunteer to a student outside of the traceable communication system and will be available in the front office or can be found here and kept on file in your child’s school. A consent form must be filled out for each designated school district employee/volunteer that you are allowing your child to communicate electronically with outside of our approved traceable systems. All names can be listed on the same consent form.
We appreciate your support as we implement these required changes to ensure the safety, transparency, and accountability of all communication within our district. By working together, we can maintain clear, secure lines of communication that prioritize the well-being of every student.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us create a safe and supportive learning environment for all Taylor County families.
Expect Greatness.
