Students at Taylor County Schools had the opportunity to meet and learn from former University of Kentucky National Champion and former NBA player Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist spoke with students regarding his charitable organization Change and Impact, Inc. Change and Impact is dedicated to improving access to healthcare and expanding services and resources for those who stutter.
Michael has stuttered since a very young age and is proud to say he stutters. He embraces showing and sharing what some may consider an imperfection. His vision is to be a leader within the stuttering community and an advocate for children who need encouragement in academics or communication. He hopes to be an example of how to stay strong and achieve your goals, even if you have to overcome things that make you different or special.
Our students were so excited to meet Michael, ask him questions, get an autograph signed, and take a picture with him!
