Lt. Governor Coleman sat down with Taylor County School District bus driver Sam Graham to discuss his 2024–25 KESSP Award and more than 60 years of dedicated service to our district.

The Lieutenant Governor visited Taylor County High School on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, to help surprise Mrs. Sydney Newton with the prestigious Milken Educator Award!

Before the assembly, there was another special moment taking place. Lt. Governor Coleman sat down with Taylor County School District bus driver Sam Graham to discuss his 2024–25 KESSP Award and more than 60 years of dedicated service to our district. First hired in January 1964, Mr. Graham has served Taylor County Schools in many capacities, most notably within the transportation department, where his roles have ranged from driver to transportation director. Today, he continues to serve by running an afternoon bus route and stepping in as a morning substitute whenever needed.

From the classroom to transportation and every role in between, the success of our students and district is made possible by the commitment of all our teachers and staff! We are proud to celebrate the incredible impact of both Mrs. Newton and Mr. Graham on our district.

Expect greatness from Taylor County Schools!
