Two Taylor County students were recognized in Frankfort on Thursday, January 8, 2026, by the Kentucky Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission for their first place finishes in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr State Essay Contest.
Josiah Hooker from Taylor County Intermediate School and Lillynn Lake from Taylor County Middle School prepared essays on the life and legacy of Dr. King. They were presented with a plaque to commemorate the occasion.
