TCHS announces new principal

Dr. Sam Marple will be the principal at Taylor County High School effective July 1, 2023.

Dr. Marple, who has 14 years experience in education, is currently the assistant principal at TCHS. He and Mrs. Sara Tucker, current TCHS principal, will be working together over the next few months to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

Dr. Marple received his bachelor's degree in history, his master's degree in special education LBD and Education Administration, and recently finished his Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership K-12. In addition to his experience as assistant principal, he also has served as a special education classroom teacher, dean of students, and principal.

He is looking forward to ensuring that TCHS provides equitable opportunities for all students. He says, "it is our goal for students to graduate from Taylor County High School college and/or career ready. I look forward to supporting all stakeholders to make this goal a reality."
